Nguyen Tran’s Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser

I have a vision: a world without cancer. But I can’t do it alone—I need your help! The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) shares this same vision, working tirelessly to fund research, support patients, and advocate for life-saving treatments.

Why This Cause Matters to Me

Giving back has always been a core value in my family. My parents opened their hearts and home to 10 children in our small town in Vietnam—kids whose families couldn’t provide them with basic necessities like food, shelter, and education. Since 2010, my family has also provided over 50,000 free meals to those in need, a tradition my father and brother continue today, even after my mother’s passing in 2015.

My husband’s family also shares this spirit of generosity. They distributed rice to 65 locations across Vietnam, donating approximately $30,000 worth of rice each month. Though the project is currently on hold, their impact remains profound.

With this deep-rooted commitment to helping others, I feel it’s my time to step up and make a difference—this time, in the fight against cancer.

I have witnessed loved ones battle cancer with no hope of a cure. Watching a family member suffer from throat cancer, ultimately surrendering to the disease, was heartbreaking. I don’t want anyone else to experience that pain. That’s why I am honored to be a 2025 Visionaries of the Year candidate for LLS, raising funds to support their groundbreaking research and patient services.

From March 20 to May 30, 2025, my goal is to raise $100,000 for LLS. If we reach $50,000, our team will be recognized by LLS by linking our name to a funded research portfolio—creating a lasting impact in the fight against blood cancers.
